We love our neighbourhood and we hope that Brixton residents will enjoy the space we’ve created. The decor of our café and  courtyard was inspired by the colours and textures of the koppie we call our home, Brixton ridge, as well as the many heritage homes in the neighbourhood.

All are welcome! We have carefully crafted our menu to include affordable items so that everyone can find something that suits their pocket.

Our kitchen offers unpretentious, flavourful and healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks. We offer vegetarian and vegan options. We are inspired by global flavours and interpret them into simple, tasty, home-style meals. Come hungry!

For breakfast we offer classics, like scrambled eggs on toast, creamy oats, or fruit, yogurt and granola. Our delicious signature dishes include our famous Dutch-inspired baked pancakes with bacon and roast tomatoes, Persian-inspired baked eggs, and the Mexican classic, huevos rancheros (sure to beat any hangover hunger!).  All-day breakfast options are available for those lazy weekend days (or when you just need some eggs!)

For lunch we have a range of “ultimate” sandwiches on our home-baked buttermilk and health breads, including a steak and tempura onion version, chicken and harissa, or haloumi and avo. Our hearty salads include our version of the Nice Niçoise, the Dense Green with broccoli, bok choi and cashews, or the Earthy Hearty salad with lentils and feta. We also make an excellent fillet steak, a delicious house curry inspired by Kashmiri flavours, and yummy chow-mein dishes in homage to the previous life of our space (which once upon a time was a Chinese restaurant).

We have a liquor license. Enjoy a Brixton Bitter craft beer, glass of wine or cocktail with your yummy meal.

For us, coffee is a serious business!

Our blend of beans from Brazil, Guatemala and Uganda is locally roasted in Johannesburg, chosen after extensive research. The result is a cup of coffee with smooth flavour that cuts through the milk, resulting in a superb espresso.

We chose our cup size to ensure that the ratio of espresso, milk and froth makes an excellent cappuccino. Our Barista regularly adjusts the grind to ensure a perfect extraction.

If you are in a rush, grab a coffee to  go in a biodegradable take-away cup. Better yet, buy a re-usable bamboo cup and get your first coffee on the house.
